Saturday, April 23, 2011

The weeks keep rolling right along. Today is the Sabbath. I quite like it on Saturday. It sure makes the time go fast. Our meetings again today were wonderful. We had a good crowd. I know it's Easter, but it's not celebrated much here. And I guess that's no surprise as less than  2% of the population is Christian.

Our speakers in Sacrament Meeting were some acquaintances of President Adhikari's. Their names are Dr. and Sister Hammond, a Dentist and his wife from Provo. They have been here in Nepal in some of the little mountain villages, doing humanitarian dental work. They are returning to the USA on Monday. They shared some touching personal experiences related to the resurrection and Atonement of our Savior. It was amazing and the Spirit was strong.

Gene is working with the Young Men and he said he had a large group today. He usually has about four young men and today had about ten - six investigators. And that's not unusual. We are hoping to see some more convert baptisms soon.

We heard from the Brown's via Skype. They are in Hong Kong on a layover. They did make the connection and will bring the DVD so we can get our computer up and working. Hurray!

We did talk with Brent. He had received the inspection on the home he is looking to buy and wanted his dad to take a look at it. It's amazing that he can send it to us. We can read through it and then discuss it.  What a wonderful world we live in.
