January 21, 2011
Here we are at ten days and counting. It's been a good week for us. We have spent time just packing up a few things and doing a little cleaning. We are trying to get ready for company. Jason and Tiffany and kids are coming today and Brent is flying in tonight. The rest of our family will be here tomorrow for Hannah's baptism and also the baby blessing of Jason and Tiffany new daughter Kinley. We are going to try and get a family photo in there somewhere as well. It would be nice to have a current photo to take with us. Our family changes a lot. Since Kinley's arrival, there's one more of us and the kids are all changing and growing up. I hope they will cooperate for a picture.
Sunday Gene and I will be speaking in Church. We have waited a long time for this weekend. We are expecting a pretty good crowd and know it will be a fun day and good weekend.
Yesterday Gene and I drove to Brigham City and had lunch with Kim and Gaye Brown. They received a call about seven months ago to be a Development Couple as well as a Trainer/Technician team for the Church Wheelchair Initiative. They will be traveling all around the world, being gone for 2-4 weeks at a time to third world countries and then home, and then off to a different country. They are scheduled to come to Nepal in April and spend a week with us. They will evaluate the NGO's (non government organization's) and previous wheelchair projects done by LDS Charities. They will also be doing some training, making sure that it's not just distributing A wheelchair, but the RIGHT wheelchair for the individual. There's a lot that goes into the wheelchair initiative. Kim is a retired physical therapist and the right fit for this calling. Gaye has been working with Reach The Children, a NGO group helping children in Africa. We spent a couple of hours with Kim and Gaye and just seemed to click. We look forward to seeing them in Nepal in April
